The short version

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no fonts or scripts from third parties. There are exactly three places where data is collected — and all three are described here.

1. Server logs

When a page is requested, the web server writes an entry: time, IP address, requested URL, status, bytes transferred, duration, browser identifier (user agent) and the referring page. This is technically necessary to operate the site and to defend against attacks. The logs are stored in a rotating file and deleted after a maximum of 30 days. They are not merged with other data and are not passed on.

2. Contact form

If you write to us, we process name, e-mail address and message solely in order to reply. The message is stored on our own server and deleted once it has been handled. It is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties. Name, e-mail and message are required — without them we cannot answer.

3. Embedded videos

Articles may contain YouTube videos, embedded through the privacy-friendly domain youtube-nocookie.com. Loading such an article loads the player; technical data (including the IP address) is transmitted to YouTube. We only use this where a video belongs to the article.

What does not exist here

No newsletter sign-up, no comment function, no profiling, no cross-site tracking, no sharing with advertising networks.

Your rights

You can request information about, correction of, or deletion of the data stored about you at any time — a message through the contact form is enough. We reply and delete whatever is no longer needed.
